Love is in the Air

I often get asked questions about great Couple Getaway locations. With Valentines Day right around the corner I figured I would post a few great little Couple Getaway ideas ~

Mountains & Relaxation - There is a great place in Blue Ridge, GA that has unsuspecting rustic relaxation. Serenity in the Mountains - Spa & Luxury Suites is Blue Ridge's best kept secret. It was even highlighted in Rachael Ray's Every Day Magazine as a Great Spa Getaway on a Budget a few yrs ago. I have gone there on a few separate occasions - once with my Brownie Troop as a Mother/Daughter Getaway Weekend, once on my own with the kids (and the dog ~ yes they are pet friendly) and yet again with a handful of my Besties! Each time Serenity was just that --- Serene. It seems that no matter which group I go with this place seems to fit the bill. Tucked behind a corner convenience store/gas station Serenity is unassuming, it doesn't have view per say but once inside your own little 1, 2 or 3 bedroom suite you wouldn't know you were on the side of a GA Hwy. The rooms are well decorated & private each with it's own little kitchen and living area. Many even have fireplaces ~ so grab a bottle of wine and cozy up! Spa-like bathrooms that just make you want to take a bath. All this with a great spa right above it! I heard from one of my brownie moms that the Raindrop Therapy was so good it brought tears to her eyes. When I went with my girlfriends Serenity set up a great little package that include two nights stay, several spa services, spa lunch and a yummy continental bfast in our very own suite each morning. The time I took the kids while my hubby was away on a Golf trip ~ we went to the Drive In Movies right in town. The kids had never done that and just thought it was the bees knees. What would be more romantic than cuddling up under a cozy blanket at the Drive In with your man? There is a quaint and delicious Italian restaurant just a short 5min drive from Serenity that is a must for dinner. Cucina Rustica is the perfect place for a romantic dinner for two ~ maybe you can even reenact the scene from Lady and the Tramp? The town of Blue Ridge is riddled with quaint shops and cute cafes. If a ride on the rails is what your looking for the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is right there, too. If a ride on horseback is more your speed then Blanche Manor is where it's at. Maybe a 15min drive from Serenity, the staff makes you feel like family, you can see three states from one part of the trail. Next time I go back I am bringing my husband so that I too can say LOVE is in the Air (as the spa offers couple's massages!).
